ETD-Hub Code of Conduct

A community charter for ethical-AI Q&A

Our Mission

ETD-Hub exists to advance transparent, inclusive and responsible discussion around AI ethics.
We welcome questions, answers, and resources that help practitioners, researchers, and the public build, audit, and govern AI systems for the common good.

Core Principles

Principle What It Means on ETD-Hub
Respect Engage with empathy; criticise ideas, never people.
Integrity Provide accurate information and disclose conflicts of interest.
Openness Share knowledge freely under the site license; cite sources.
Inclusivity Foster a safe space for diverse voices and under-represented perspectives.
Accountability Take responsibility for the impact of your words and AI practices.

Community Guidelines

  1. Be Constructive

  2. Frame feedback as suggestions or clarifying questions.
  3. Down-vote or flag content without personal attacks.

  4. Uphold Ethical Standards

  5. Do not post code, data, or guidance designed to create harmful, biased, or deceptive AI systems.
  6. Highlight known ethical trade-offs in your answers (e.g., fairness vs. accuracy).

  7. Cite Your Sources

  8. Always attribute papers, standards, or datasets (APA/MLA/Chicago or simple links).
  9. If you reference proprietary material, confirm you have permission to share excerpts.

  10. Protect Privacy

  11. Remove or anonymise personal data from examples before posting.
  12. Never share non-public, identifying, or confidential information.

  13. No Harassment or Hate

  14. Zero tolerance for abusive language, discrimination, or intimidation.
  15. This includes slurs, derogatory stereotypes, or repeated unwanted contact.

  16. Avoid Misinformation

  17. Verify claims, especially about regulations, standards, or real-world incidents.
  18. Mark uncertain statements with “needs citation” or ask for clarification.

  19. Keep It On-Topic

  20. Questions must relate to AI ethics, governance, policy, risk, or societal impact.
  21. General programming or data-science questions belong elsewhere unless explicitly framed by an ethical dimension.

  22. Use Inclusive Language
